In the last 21 years, the Child Advocacy Center in collaboration with the Department of Children’s Services, law enforcement, and the District Attorney’s Office have worked together to investigate and prosecute 17,619 child abuse cases, assisted over 27,092 individuals, and trained over 12,956 people how to protect children.

Child Advocacy Center celebrates Child Abuse Prevention Month with the Hometown Heroes Walk for Children each year at the end of April. The event begins at the Murfreesboro Civic Plaza, where awards are presented to local hometown heroes. The event concludes with a boxed picnic lunch at the Child Advocacy Center. Hundreds of people attend this event year after year. 2022 is the 7th year for the Hometown Heroes Walk. Prior to that, the Child Advocacy Center hosted Andrea Walks for Tennessee’s Children for 6 years. Former First Lady Andrea Conte was the founder of the event.
